I've started a project to rip a DVD and keep the original menu, within that menu I've disable all other buttons except PLAY and SCENE SELECTION. The menu is around 2.5mb.

The movie I've ripped was 6gig, so I went through the usual way of downsampling, so the movie is now a 3.5gig mpeg file. I converted the mpeg to VOB's. So now I got.

vts_01_0.vob - The menu
vts_01_1.vob - Movie part 1
vts_01_2.vob - Movie part 2
vts_01_3.vob - Movie part 3
vts_01_4.vob - Movie part 4

The problem is now creating IFO files to correctly boot the menu, I can do it to boot the movie but not the menu first.

The film is Superman 2 R1 NTSC, The running sequence is:-

Warner logo
Menu
Second Warner logo
The movie

But I only get Warner logo, second warner logo, movie.

Does anyone have any ideas on this subject.

When I get a 100% success rate I publish my tutorial on the subject.

Cheers

The only way I've ever done this was by keeping the original VIDEO_TS.IFO and bup as well as vob. Then play with ifoedit and see which vob id's play before you get to the menu, then make them point to nothing. Then the menu will come up. Like they say, always press Get VTS Sectors as the last thing you do, and don't click save unless you made an editing change to the internal parts of an IFO.

Everything I mentioned I found out by searching on this board. Good luck.
