So I sold my old DVD-RW drive and bought a new liteon 1653s and just switched it.

Now my probplem is that win2k reboots every time after loading for a while. I got win to load successfully to the end after deleting secondary IDE channel from safemode and then starting win without the new drive plugged on.

How can I get the new drive working without reinstalling windows?

Thanks for you help, ilenius

Did you install the drivers for the device?

problem solved already:

1) safemode, uninstall secondary IDE channel (the one where i will put the new drive)

2) without plugging the device going with normal boot to win2k

3) after reinstalling the IDE channel, delete it from the normal mode.

4) now plug-in new drive and voilá!

thx for help anyway =)
