i have attached the ide cable and the power supply to the burner and all i have left is the audio. My instructions say to attach it to the mother board or the sound card. I followed the cd-roms audio cable and it is installed into the only audio port on the mother board.... i believe. I tried looking for the soundcard by i dont know what it looks like.... im new at this. Or is the audio cable even necessary?

Try using your drive without the audio cable you probably don't need it.What OS are you using?
