"@oryp...you just need an "ISO" folder next to your PSP folder and the Hookboot folder and Hookboot% folder in your PSP\GAME directory...it should load up.."
Do you mean an iso folder on the root, or in the PSP directory
Can you draw a quick tree? (sorry)

ok...thanks to bilal123 and evnflow,i now have successfully updated my psp to japan v1.5 =>.and i already install d umdemulatorv0.8 onto it.its working till d greeny menu.but when i tried to load d game,it will automatically trandsfer me back to d psp main menu.what's actually d problem here??i already put d .ISO file onto d ISO file under d UMDEMULATOR at d root dir.

thanks.
u probably have a wrong setting on ur UMD EMULATOR.
Remember u must have a UMD GAME in ur drive for UMD EMULATOR.
also in UMD EMULATION put in these settings.
CPU/BUS speed - 222/11 MHz
ISO emulation mode - direct load
DISC type UMD - game
Updater icon - remove
Use boot .bin - on
Region code - off
Flash0 emulation - off
Flash1 emulation- off

Evnflow,
I have PSP movies (NOT in DVDs). They are actual PSP movies. Can I rip and play them with Fastloader like I rip actual UMD (PSP games)? Thanks.

i already cncern bout having d UMD GAME in d drive to make my UMDEMULATOR works..i got d ridge racer UMD in my drive..
and i don't have d setting u juz list on..
what i have r...
cpu/bus speed:222/111mhz
ISO mode:on
disctype ISO:game
disctyoe UMD:game
updater icon:remove
regioncode game:regionfree
regioncode video:regionfree
regioncode audio:regionfree
flash0 emulation:off
flash1 emulation:off
so,do i got it correct there??but d game still won't load.it will automatically tranfer to d psp main menu..=<

i dont no whats wrong then. first time i have heard of this. usually the psp crashes when loading an iso and not goes to the main menu.
perphaps if u downloaded the iso u never extracted the file and thats why.
but if u have these settings nothing should of really gone wrong:
ISO emulation mode - direct load
DISC type UMD - game
plus what iso is it ur trying to play???
May need to ask Evnflow on this one. He is more exprienced.

and i seems can't change d "regioncode" to "off".theres only "regionfree,europe,america,japan"..if u hav msn or yahoo messengger..juz add me up so we cud discuss d further details..tx dude..

ISO emulation mode; THAT SHOULD BE CHANGED TO DIRECT LOAD
ETC;
To change a change just move ur left/right arrow until u get the one i told u.

Hi. excellent threads guys. I have a problem if anyone can help. I have umdemulator v0.8c and pspv1.5. I Can get the emulator screen, but the iso does not show up? After reading the guide posted by evnflow (btw grand job) i followed to a tee. Although in the "UMDEMULATOR" folder there was no ISO folder so i created a fresh one...?
Also my original iso files do not have the normal cd icon. Theres that white square that shows when the pc does don recognize the extension?
Maybe its one of these things?
Apologise if i've missed something really obvious, total neewb

@asyir...ok UMDEMULATOR is going to bring you back to the main menu...press up...it should go to the UMD icon...and be playing a video of the ISO you just loaded,NOT the umd in the drive...just press X on the UMD icon to play...
@parkd...do you have a folder named "ISO" next to you PSP folder? and if so do you have the ISO file in that folder?(NOT the RAR file)...

Cheers evnflow i had the iso folder in the wrong place. Bit when i click on the iso within umdemulator the psp turns itself off. any help muchos appreciated

@parkd....ok when you start up the umdemulator and it goes to the ISO select screen is there a background of green spikey wheels(cogs)?
@lalala666...i think you were supposed to take everything off of your memory card when you downgrade...are they still on your memory card?(the pictures and movies)...if so cut and paste them to your computer and then try putting them back...i know the movies will need a folder called MP_ROOT to be on the Root Directory(the window where the PSP folder is)...

hi evnflow, sorry mate...im another newbie...ive been following the threads and noticed i have the same probs as parkd. Ive followed your instructions and everything seems fine...the iso is there, the settings are right but when i press x it just freezes. Im trying to play we9 (937mb).
I was actually told to use dev hook v.022 but im equally stumped on that.
Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers

i think its a very strange setup. It says 2.0 on the sys info but the guy i bought it off in hong kong says its a 1.5 but he put a program to make it seem as though its a 2.0....so that i can play 2.0 games. I didnt understand it then and still dont. should i downgrade it again to 1.5?
He says there should be no probs if i use dev hook. Can you give me a brief run through of how to use dev hook?
If not...ill just downgrade

ok...do me a favor...on you main menu do you see a Globe looking icon? if you don't see a globe icon for the browser...don't worry someone has place a version changer on your psp...to disable the version changer go to your memory stick icon, press X and look for an icon that says "WAB VERSION CHANGER V2.0"...press X...let it load...then once loaded, press O to bring it back to 1.50 firmware status....
do you have devhook V0.22 or UMDEMULATOR V0.08c downloaded?
