Defrag before burn?

I backed up some DVDs and left them as ISO files on my HDD to burn later, but now i have done a defrag.

will this have any effects on the quality of the burn?

have you ever done it before?

Because i burnt one of them and it seemed like it was a video tape sort of haizy.

I dont want to do any more sad copys Ive got enough coasters.

I have clips and other video bits that I use on various projects and they have been through the defrag process many times without problems. If anything, defragging should improve your burning by keeping all the files in order on your hard drive.

What I see during the defrag process is that the descrete video files never becomes fragmented. The entire video file may need to be moved during the process. That should not cause any problems at all though.

If you were loosing data during the course of a defrag then having a hazy DVD would be the least of your problems. Your OS files gets the same treatment as any other data.
