I just got an LG Super Multi CD/DVD External with firewire and usb 2 interface and I love it.

So far no coasters and I am using Verbatim DVD+R media I purchased at Sam's Club for $18 for 50 spindle that identifies as MCC 002.

Hope this helps

My recommendations would be the: Plextor 16X Double Layer internal DVD±RW Burner with s/w and Black and Beige Bezels, Model PX-716A/SW for $139.99

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=27-131-338&depa=1

Or the Plextor 16X Dual Layer internal DVD+/-RW Serial ATA (SATA)Drive, Model PX-716SA/SW for $142.99 from Newegg.

I have used Plextor Products for years and have just ordered the Internal Serial ATA model PX-716SA/SW for myself.

Sorry about my earlier answer to your question. Although kind of expensive, I would recommend The PX-716UF DVD DVD±R/RW External IEEE 1394 and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 drive from Plextor.

On the Plextor site the cost is: $239.00 + Tax + Shipping.

http://www.plextor.com/english/products/716uf.htm

And at Server Supply the cost is: $232.30 Free Shipping & Outside New York, no Tax
