I am pretty sure this question has been asked a million times but i need to know or at least get some ideas. My frist graphic card was an Nvidia gforce MX400 64mb, it came with my old computer:

Gateway 500XL(2001)
P4 @1.7ghz 400mhz bus
256mb memory 266mhz
Geforce mx400 64mb
40 gig ATA 133 Hard drive

At the time i had this computer HAlO for Pc came out and i could only play it at lowest resoltion. Graphics sucked and i was suffering. This is when i made up my mind that i will never buy Nvidia again. I went and bought an Ati Radeon 9000 64mb replacing the crapy nvidia. However i still could only play halo at lowest resoltion but with better graphic details like shadding.

Just this summer i built my own computer:

P4 2.4ghz 800mhz bus 512kb on DFI 875P
512mb memory 400mhz bus
ati 9600xt 128mb
40 gig ATA 133 harddrive

With this new computer and graphics card i can play halo on my max level of resoltion. However there is still room for improvements.

My question is: Should i go with the geforce 6800ultra or Ati radeon x800xt PT.
My second question is: Should i replace my mother board and cpu to AMD 64bit?
