Here's the deal. I want to make a movie with a bunch of different chapters from different movies. What I tried first was to just rip certain chapters from different discs on dvd decryptor, I then saved them in a folder and named them VTS01_1.vob and so on. I then open up IFOEDit and Make .IFO files. But for some reason when I burn the disc some of the chapters are ok but for some reason some of the chapters that IFOEDit create are only a couple seconds long and some of the chapters start with the beginning of another chapter. Is there a fix for this???

My other question is what is my option If I want to make my own chapter splits on a movie file .vob. Is there a program that will allow me to do that? Or do i need to convert it to .m2v first??? And if i do convert it to that do I lose quality in the audio and video??

All help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

off topic but, karch regarding your post in the newbie section about trying to get spiderman small enough to fit on a dvdr. I was able to strip out the vob's, and languages, but i've been unable to strip the menus. The file size so far is 4.65gb and I know it needs to get to 4.33gb. Can you help??

I've had success with the DVD Authoring function of IFOEdit095. You would have to demux your .vob into a .m2v and an audio data set. You then create your own celltimes.txt file. The celltimes file would contain the frame number of the start of each chapter. Since there are 30 frames per second, the math isn't all that complicated.

Splitting and recombining files has no impact on quality whatsoever.
