Hi,

I am using the DVD X Copy Platinum version 4.0.3.8 and have just tried to back up a DVD on to one disk. I only selected one titleset (just the movie), leaving out the trailers and other extras. The compression was therefore only 11%, so the video quality of the copied DVD is actually quite good.

However, it must have also compressed the subtitle files, because the backed up copy doesn't dispay all the subtitles during playback (you only get one sentence out of 3 or 4, if that). With any other film it's ok, but I've backed up Kill Bill which has a fair bit of Japanese in it so you do kind of need the subtitles (or at least an option to turn them on!).

Is there any way I can write a complete DVD to one disk but make sure that none of the subtitles are compressed? I don't mind sacrificing audio or video quality for this as they still look pretty good? I got the platinum version of X Copy beacuase I believed you could decide how much to compress each component individually - does this relate to subtitles as well?
