I've been reading posts on this site for about 10 hours now, and I just can't find a problem similar to mine.

I had many already installed games on my PC and they all worked fine (with the CD in, of course). My HP CD-RW died and I bought an LG DVD-CD Writer (GMA-4020B); since then, up to 5-6 of those games are asking for the CD even if it's in the DVD-CD.

Since all the non-working games are the newest I have, I came to the conclusion that the protection they have isn't «compatible» with my DVD-CD Writer. As an example, SimCity4 works fine with the new Writer, but as soon as I install the RushHour Expansion, it simply keeps asking me to put the CD in while it's already there.

Is there a way (beside changing the Writer !!) to have it to work properly ??

I already checked for the latest drivers. Excuse my English since I'm a French person.
