Ilo DVDR04 burner differences

I own an Ilo DVDR04 recorder with the older version burner (4x 451s) What is the difference (if any) between the newer version (8x 813s) and the version I have? I would guess burner write speed 4x vs 8x.Is there an advantage to have the new one? I am still within the 90 dat Walmart return period. Note: I have downloaded and installed the latest hacked firmware upgrade (wmea1097.e20) if this makes a difference.
