I'm pretty sure that this is an amplifier problem. It seems to stop outputting when the volume goes above a certain level. I've also noticed the operation light switches off when the ouput stops. It works fine but incredbly quietly at lower volume which is frustrating. I assume its some kind of safe mode but the speakers are in good condition, it doesn't need to stop output. Any idea's how to stop this happening? Thanks.

check the polarity on your speaker connections.
