ok! I got mine up and going. Now Im working on my moms. I posted in the new section without any help. I hope its ok that Ive posted here. I have down loaded dvd shrink and decrypter. I used shrink on the movie troy. went to decrypter went to mode and write and got this message. DEVICE NOT READY (no reference point found). any help? THANX

Is this an internal or external burner? This error could be from having a cable not securely plugged in. Are you sure there is a blank disk in the burner?

It is internal. Yes I am sure it was a blank dvd.

Will the drive read or play factory CDs/DVDs?

did you set decrypeter to the dstionation so it knows where to put the movie.

Yes the drive will read factory dvds. How do you set decrypter to destenation?

When you set the Mode in Decrypter to "ISO Write", the top portion of the Decrypter window will relate to Source and at the bottom of the window is an area to designate the Destination device. I have more than one possible burner so I have a pulldown menu to select the device. I would guess in your case you might have just one. The name of the burner should be listed: _NECDVD_RWND-3500AG.

Dear LADDYBOY, Yes, that was the answer destination needed to be moved. It was set to her (my mom) cd rom I set it to dvd burner. Thank you! She now has her first movie (TROY) on one DVD.
