What Video card for Photo Editing

I'm building a PC for my father, who is a hard-core photographer. He does all of his editing with Adobe CS (or whatever its called) and has and Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printer to doo all of his canvas prints, etc.

When I built my machine it was more for gaming, but I was wondering what is the best video card for photo editing? I don't know how much to budget, he probably doesn't want to spend too much more than $1200 on the whole system.

I am probably going to use an Athlon 64 (3400+ or 3500+). I was thinking of getting the MSI K8N Neo Platnum MOBO just because its the one I have, unless someone has a better suggestion.

I am planning on putting in 2GB of RAM, does any brand have a better reputation without getting too pricey?

Anyway, thanks for any help you guys can offer!
