You need to use a patching program to patch the ps2 disc before you burn the actual game onto it. Search for the patch, I would give you the link for it but I don't know if that is against forum rules or not??

Also you will have a problem if you are using a modchip to boot your backups. If you are, you will need to disable it to go online.

PS2 - v8
Mod - Magic V
Burner - CenDyne (Pioneer) DVR-A05
Media - Anything Cheap

Gamecube w/Broadband Adapter
Phantasy Star Online
Animal Crossing Loader v1.4

Not all games require the mod chip to be turned off to play on-line. I'm just getting into on-line play and have only re-blown a few games to add DNA codes but I haven't run into any mod chip issues. If you turn off your mod chip you'll probably have to use a real PS2 disc, not a back-up. If your game collection is mostly backups, like mine, your main problem will probably be coming up with the DNA codes you need to play on-line. I'm gonna have to re-rent a few of the games I want to play on-line just to rip their disc id's.

I think I know what your problem is but let's take it from the top just to make sure we're in sync.
1. Download Disc Id Utilities v0.2A (discidutil.zip) from http://www.sksapps.net/index.php?page=online.html
2. Unzip to a directory. The directory will contain:
DISCIDUTIL.nfo
Discidutil.cue
Discidutil.bin
3. Open Nero
4. Close the Nero wizard
5. Click on the File menu and select Open
6. Navigate to your directory
7. Make sure the File of type: pull-down which is at the bottom of the dialog box says either
All Supported Compilations and Images
or
Image Files (*.nrg,*.iso,*.cue)
(this is probably what your problem is)
8. Select DISCIDUTIL.CUE
9. Burn It!

I'm assuming you are using regular old Nero and not Nero Express. I haven't used Alcohol much so can't comment on it. Good Luck!
