As the magic swap 3.3 files SURELY must be small enough to fit on a cd-r, in theory, would it be possible for someone to make a back up of their disc this way?

Nope, from what i understand, the problem is 'where and how' they burn their discs. They use industrial presses to burn their games, and in doing so, are able to burn information on parts of the disc that our burners cannot.

Nope, I guarantee you will not be able to make your own swap magic cd's, I have tried, my friends have tried, and no luck. dragulaAC is right, companies use high tech presses to put the data onto cd's, our regular cd/dvd burners are not that high tech yet.!.
