Hi folks, I am new to all of this, I have downloaded a large rar file, which has split into 2 folders, when extracting and choosing the file I am getting visual but no sound, I am using WM player, am I just being dumb? or am I missing something? any advice from you experts would be much appreciated.

CODECS! It sounds like you don't have the right audio codecs installed. What type of media file are you trying to play?

Thanks for that Diablos,

I found some threads about CODECs and downloaded the AVI codec prog and found out I was missing the AC3 codec, which I have now installed, and things are working great now.

Thank you for your reply and for pointing this nOOb in the right directions.
