I've seen this mentioned here elsewhere, but only when I went looking for it specifically. It should be mentioned prominently that there is an alternative to phone tools which will work with most phones (Symbian OS does not appear to be supported as of this writing). It's called mobiledit and it does 90+% of what Phone Tools does, without any of the headaches. If you need a piece of software to manage SMS, phone books/contacts, and photos, this is for you.

I keep my phone on vibrate all the time and so don't have any use for ringtones, so I can't report on ringtones functionality, but I think it must exist.

The software is free for the first 7 days and after that it exists in a somewhat limited version, or you can pay for it and continue to get full access. There are active help forums and there appears to be good support from the company.

One final note-it's developed by a Czech company, so the English is a little off at times, but it's certainly usable.
