Is it possible to copy a PC game onto PC and then burn it back onto a PS2 format to play it on my playstation. I have PC games that my pC isn't capable of playing, and I would like to play them on my PS2.

I can't see that happening, PC games require a good video card and more processor power than a PS2 can muster.

it depends on what the pc emulator would emulate. in theory the ps2 could probably handle k6-2 emulation and a classic voodoo card(class of emulation). baldurs gate only required a 200mhz (accually the min was like 166 or something) pent MMX (this in 1999)... it all depends ;-)
if your talking about the newest of the new, of course not. I didnt say that ;)
one thing is for sure I know for a fact someone could port the DosBox emulator for the ps2 with ease :D
the thread creator didn?t post his pc specs so I don?t know for sure what games and how old the games he is talking about are; for new games or games that are a few years old, the ps2 could not handle those games being emulated, it would be neat to see a pc emu on the ps2 with the HD though.

Based on the context of his question, then NO you cannot do that. I'm guessing you have an older PC that does not meet the requirements of a current game. The ps2 is pretty old itself anyway.

my inital post

well it depends on how you look at it, he gave such little information... the only way to get pc games on a ps2 would be through emulation. now what can you emulate on the ps2 thats another story. that is all I was saying nothing more or less ;-)

If it was a linux game, you could use the linux kit, but by the way, you said your PC cant handle it, I would assume you are talking about a windows game that requires a decent chomp of CPU power and RAM, PS2 has 32mb of RAM so it is unlikely as a lot of PC games require 256mb.

What is impossible? Have you done any emulation; I wouldn?t mind a dosbox port to the ps2.

a port of FreeDO would be kool too, I wish they would emulate more cd based classic consoles on the ps2.
the only one they have emulated on the ps2 that is cd based is neogeo cd (it works good).

Alright, just to let you all know, ps2 will never be powerful enough to run PC games. Will there ever be an emulator created on the ps2 to port PC games? Maybe, but... It will never be even close to 100% emulation. I know xbox has a PC emulator in the making, but that doesn't even offer 50% emulation yet. The box is much more powerful than the PS2, and you can't argue about that, (just look at the emulation on XBOX compared to the PS2, xbox simply blows ps2 away with emulation) and my point with that is if xbox cannot emulate pc games, ps2 will never stand a chance.

well no emulator is perfect, but for any of the new games the answer is NO it can not emulate new pc games (some new games require like 128mb-256mb ram now to emulate that the console would have to have like 256mb-1gig ram) that is what I have been saying all along! even games that require 32mb or maybe even 16 or 12mb could not be emulated on the ps2.
as for the xbox they already have DoxBox ported to that system. Even with the newest of the new xbox only has 64mbs (ps2 has 32mb) of ram so thats limited to.
The amount of emulators on the xbox has alot to do with the simple XDK code. most of the xbox emulators are not emulating systems that themselves are not power houses in todays standards or yesterdays.

its not all just ram eather is the video unit cpus ect. the graphic synthesizer in the ps2 is pretty good teh cpu however is not the best 128bit emotion chip 300mhz
