Hey, first of all i'm sorry to those who would have seen this on maxconsole.com already, I've come here to ask my question becuase I belive that due to the other sections on this forum I might get a better answer, anyway heres my problem:
I have a LG GSA-4040B (E304 firmware) dvd writer. I have never had any problems with this drive, it's always been happy to do everything i've asked it, untill I popped a 8cm dvd-r in there. DVD Decrypter, nero and alcohol 120% state that there is not enough space on my discs to burn a full sized GC ISO.
here is a comparision from of the blank disc and the ISO
i'm losing out on 7143469 bytes which is really holding me back.
I've tried different past versions of firmware to see what that did. I've also tried different versions of nero to go with it - no luck. Even with overburn on it made no difference, it just failed at 0% every time.
I'm using bulkpaq 8cm dvd-r with a prodiscs03 dye. I know others who have used this disc sucessfully, it just seems my burner is incompatible with the media. However it's not a direct 'not working' type thing, it'll pick the disc up and burn to it with different files, it just wont give me the full size for my GC ISOs.
This made me wonder if I can take the bytes I dont have on the disc off the ISO and then try to burn that. I thought i'd ask on here first though as I wanted experts opinions before I went and did something stupid.
Any help on this would really be appreciated as I'm really in the dark about what I can do.
