When trying to backup Harry Potter dvd's the backup programs,(dvd encrypter, dvd platinum and others give me the message that everything was copied sucsessfuly, but the copy freezes up half way through the movie and I noticed a blanc space on the recorded side of the disk about an eight of an inch thick. Please help. thanks

this should be in the dvd-r forum, not audio.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
