I'm experiencing an odd problem authoring a DVD on my new Pioneer 520 with internal hard drive, and wondered if anyone could lend any advice.

I create football highlight videos using Pinnacle Studio 8, where I turn off the original sound of the clips and overlay music files, usually .wav format.

I've output these videos to my mini-dv camcorder using firewire, and playback from the camcorder (sound to my home theater receiver, video straight to the tv) is flawless. I've now read the video from the camcorder onto the 520 hard drive, again via firewire. In general, it is going well and seems to be working.

Here's the odd part: The highlight video contains 5 songs. Of the five, 2 are missing about their first two seconds of audio when played back from the 520 internal hard drive - the associated video is there, but there's a small mute portion at the beginning of these two songs. I know they play back fine from the mini-dv tape (I watched and listened carefully while recording to the hdd), but somehow drop just that little bit of audio when playing back from the hard drive. I would have guessed that the Pioneer would see this as "original" sound from the tape, so what plays from the tape should play from the 520 hard drive? Other than these two small spots, everything seems to have been captured perfectly.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this, or what I might try to correct it? Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
