dvdx copy platinum please help

hey i just bought a new external dvd writer NEC and now i can't copy any dvd from my laptop, but when i connect the writer to my desktop it works fine both running dvd x platinum. one more weird thing it always stops writing at exactly 4:59 min can anybody help maybe all i need is an update.

this site is ran by afterdawn.com (wonderful peeps) but is specifically for xcopy people.. ALthough as an owner of dvd xcopy, dvd wizard pro, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink i only use the later 2 which were free and with over 150backups i have only had three problems-(turn out each time to media not program. should give em a try, i know for free what do you have to loose but a little bit of your time (1o minutes). At first i didnt want to stray becuase i paid money for other two programs but gave it a try and havent touch the other two programs in over 6months. If DVD Shrink cant do it DVD Decrypter can.

raton23 ..try unloading the program and reloading it. that should work if not like he said use DVDshrink and DVD Decrypter..there both freeware and great programs.

Raton, are you running a O/S older than win 2000 on your Lap T. Some of the newer external drives will not operate on those paltforms..
