would i be able to copy 7 45 mins shows(AVI TYPE FILES) to a dvd r and if so what would be the best software to use.

you could use Nerovission Express to do this. But i dont know if you would bebale to get all seven on 1 DVD. You might could have nerovision make a DVD video of all of them and save them in file format on your hard drive then use Nero recode or DVDShrink to shrink the files down to fit on 1 disc but the quility probably would degrade.
