Problem with Swap Magic 2.0

I own a pal PS2 version 5/6. I've followed the guide that swap magic has issued which is...
Boot up the Swap Magic 2 "CD" disk.
Wait for the PS2 to boot up until "Insert Disc" message appears on the screen.
Now hold the "Eject" button until the power indicator turns from green to orange.
The CD tray will open, Change the Swap Magic 2 disk with your PS2 CD game disk.
The CD tray will close within 5-10 seconds.
After the CD tray closes press "X" on your controller,
Your PS2 backup will now load.
Swap Magic Instructions (For Booting PS2 DVDr's)
I get up to the bit where it says "now hold the eject button". It just doesn't work. THe cd tray just simply opens, and it goes back to browser. Can anybody give me any advice?

those directions are for the no solder mod, do you have that?

jizmak, he has swap magic. MrSeager, DONT get the no solder modchip. Either buy a fliptop or buy/make a slide card to use along with your discs.

I have the slide discs, I have everything. I made the slide card myself. It works! I can get the tray open without the PS2 knowing, it's just when I swap the discs and press X, nothing happens.

to MrSeager, hope dat u're doing well with u're coasters... LOL just kidding... anyways with wot u're asking 1stly wot program r u using to backup ur preowned games ...cough ....cough & hav u had any luck @ any stage backing anything up b4????!!! i've found that the best option that i worked out myself even b4 ever checking any of these forums to backup is Alcohol 120%..... works well & hav had 100% success with 10 or more cdR's.. haven't had any luck with dvd's as yet though.... hope u can work it out coz it can b frustrating @ 1st :)

Yes, I burned Broken Sword 2. It worked on my already chipped PSONE, but the PS2 won't play it with the swap disc. And yes, I burnt it with Alcohol 120%.

you cannot play ps1 games on ps2 console with swapmagic

MrSeager, you have to buy breaker pro also if you wan't to play backup ps1 games.
