The files i have on my computer that i want to burn are:

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
VTS_01_5.VOB
VTS_02_0.BUP
VTS_02_0.IFO
VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_02_1.VOB

im just wondering about the directory structure, or if someone could tell me how to burn these images properly...

Hi,
the correct way to go is to rip the dvd with
smart ripper 2.41,
make sure you copy all of the vobs and chapters
to a folder called Video_ts.

Then use prassi primo as i do,
by choosing creat data dvd , and when promted
choose your vob folder to copy to the dvd-r
and your done.

dont worry about an Audio_vts folder just burn
the Video_vts as a data dvd and it will load up
in all dvd players.

if your movie is to big for the dvd...then follow the advise for copying over 4.7gb movies
info is all over the net.

Hey, I copied the files extracted using smart ripper 2.41 into the video_ts directory, burned it to a DVD-R, yet my DVD player (nor my PC player) would recognize the format. Any ideas?

Same thing here.

There are a few posts that say that all you have to do for <4.7GB is rip then burn, but it doesn't seem to work for me. Neither my comp nor my dvd player read the disk.

Then there are some who say rip, create an image, then burn - but how do you create an image off of your hard drive? Nero and Prassi ask me for a disk drive to make an image from.

Ok, dRD says: "-rip the movie -- if it's small one (so it fits to 4.36GB with all the VOBs), use DVD Decrypter's feature that allows you to create UDF/ISO image and burn it with Nero using UDF/ISO DVD format"

So I take it that unless I make the image with DVD Decrypter first, Nero won't be able to burn the files to a readable UDF/ISO DVD format?

I visited DVD Decrypter's web site and it says that DVD Decrypter rips and decodes as well as makes an image.

So, dRD do you think it could be done with just these two steps? :
1) Rip/Decode to an image with DVD Decrypter.
2) Burn to a blank DVD-R with Nero.
I hate titles

dividiar: True, _IF_ your DVD is under 4.36GB, which doesn't happen very often.

Thanks dRD (damn you're quick), I will try that next.

The disc I am backing up is DVD-5 and 4.3GB according to the software. I have been able to burn its whole contents to a DVD-R before, but it just wasn't being read by the drives I tried it in.

This is crazy,
I have told you the exact way i do it....
rip with smart ripper 2.41
making sure you rip the whole movie vobs ifo ect
choose to decrypt every vob file keys.
choose 1 gb as vob file size limit
choose remove macrovision

now if the whole thing is less than 4.3gb

make a folder called video_ts and throw ALL
the files made by smart ripper to this folder
(everything)

now open prassi primo version 2.0 749
and on the wizard screen choose data dvd
now open the video_vts folder with the smartripper made files (just select the folder not each file) and burn it.

this always works without any probs ..as long as it is a vts vob folder less than 4.3gb

and they play in all good stand alone players
bush , pioneer , phillips ,ect ect and also on
pc dvd rom.

so go over it carefully step by step

by the way my writer is pioneer AO3

and using the above method also works fine with dvd RW ...it plays without problems.

your possible oversights were not selecting all the movie vobs ifos and other files with smart ripper... and not choosing vob saved sizes of
1gb and not decrypting every vob ect

so go as above and you wont fail.

remember smart ripper 2.41
and prassi primo 2.0 749

is what to use on the above method.

forgot to add...

in smart ripper click the files button
and make sure you tick all the unticked check boxes as well as the movie vobs.

and in the setting button ..make sure vob file access is
auto

and also in settings tick...
key check every vob file
region free patch
demacrovision
