okay the basics, i have a dlink Di-514 and dont have much of a clue on how to open up the ports. ive tried opening them before, and it seemed to work for 10 minutes then it stopped. also i have zone alarm pro which i always leave on the medium setting, and dont know if you need to open the ports for that. I use the azurues bt client.

to my understaning you need to have a static ip? i dont know what the difference between the dynamic and static really, or how to set them help. if ne one has any tips our a guide it would be aprreciated.

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=1212&question=port+forwarding#604

that tells you how to get in your settings, should help.

yes u need to open ports in zonealarm pro

static ip = your ip address everytime you connect to the internet, doesn't change - its always the same

dynamic ip = your ip address changes everytime you connect to the internet.

no - you don't need a static ip.
