Hi everybody
I have just downloaded ddr disney mix for ps1 on bin file. I burned it using alcohol120 and my ps2 loaded the game on my first attempt. than, from that moment on, no matter what I do the ps2 doesn't want to load the game. I have tried to burn it again, converted it to ISO using ISOUltra and burned it using gameXcopy but still no loading...
what can I do?

First of all, you do have a modchip or are using some kind of swap trick on your ps2 in order to play these backup games... correct? If not, then that is your problem right there.
If you are using some method, then here is what I would do:
Download Clone CD and use this program to make the image file of the game. When you burn the game, do it at 1x with the same program.
I had this same problem with my ps1 games on my ps2. The reason why mine were not working was because I was burning at 8x with Alcohol 120% and Nero, and that was to fast to be burning the games at. So I burned at 1x with Clone CD and they work fine now.
Also, make sure you are using quality cdr media, such as Sony, Maxwell, Memorex, Ritek, Verbatim, etc. etc.

if you have a modchip, you may have to put your console in ps1 mode
put in stanby mode(red light)
press and hold eject for at least 1 sec,
insert game
press eject to close
game MAY boot

The Clone CD didn't work...
I am using Verbatim datalifeplus cd's which I have heard ae the best for the ps2...
I have a modchip and to start the ps2 I turn it off to standby while the cd is inside and than turn it on with a long press and the reset bottun till I start hearing the sound of the console on the tv...
I downloaded clone cd, I converted the bin file to ccd file and tried to burn it on 1X speed telling the clone cd that it is burnning a game cd. when that didn't work I tried burning again telling the clone cd it is burning a protected pc game - failed again.
Now what is really troubling me is the fact that the game did load on my first attempt to burn it and put it in the console. If it did load, why did it stop? and if the file is curropted or damaged, why did it play the first time?
This is really strange to me...
any suggestions?

dont insert game while putting in ps1 mode
#1....empty ps2
#2....put on standby(red light)
#3....press and hold eject for at least 1 sec
#4....insert game
#5....press eject to load disc
#6....game should boot
remember the above method might not work for your ps2 mod.it all depends on what chip it is

hursty, I am sorry I wasn't clear before when I wrote that your way of booting the console didn't work. I tried it the first time you suggested it and it didn't work. On my next comment I tried to give as much information as possible about my situation, what I tried and how I boot my console so that ps1 games would work.
After your second comment I tried it once again just to make sure following your exact orders:
#1....empty ps2
#2....put on standby(red light)
#3....press and hold eject for at least 1 sec
#4....insert game
#5....press eject to load disc
#6....game should boot
Once again it didn't work so that's not the issue I guess.
thanks a lot anyway and if you have any other idea I would gladly try it as well

^^^basically all you need to have is a program that can read the cd/dvd, save it on to your computer's hard drive as an image file, and be able to burn that image file onto cd/dvd.
there are plenty and plenty of threads here on how to do this, I have only done it on a mac, but on a PC, I guess you can experiment with alcahol 120%, Nero, clone cd, CloneDVD and dvd decryptor.
search for those programs on this site and you should get some help.

shells413, to further answer your question:
In addition to all the program listed below you can also use Games X copy, which is a program designed exactly to copy your game and also pass it's security.
I am using this program when I am copying my games and it works great!
I hope you are using some sort of a modchip or something because your PS2 console won't load the games without one of those, or one of the other products available on the market for that purpose...
good luck

shells413, First off the modchip: when you buy a ps2 console you can only play original games and only from the format of the console (NTSC/PAL). if you want to be able to play burned games or games from another format you have to use a modchip or someother device to manipulate the console to read the games. usually people go to an electronics to put the modchip since it's being placed on the board of the console, and wrong doing may ruin the console (happend to me once after giving the console to someone claiming to be an electronics engineer). The cost of the modchip including the work to put it is around 100EU here in Israel. there may be other devices, I am not aware of them... after you got the modchip and you checked that the console still works!!! you can start playing burned games. to do that you need to have a cd/dvd burner on your computer and a program that can read the game and burn it. I use the program Games X Copy to burn the games. it usually works just fine. this program is supposed to be suited especially for ps and ps2 games and it claims it passes the copy protection of the games so that the console will read the games.
I don't understand much about dvd media so I just bought "Smart Com" media to burn the games on them, When using cd media you should use high quality ones such as "Verbatim: data life plus".
I hope this will help...
