Wrong forum.... But to answer your question, use Alcohol 120% or Nero to backup your dreamcast games to you computer. Then take the image file on your computer that you just made and burn it. Can't really tell you where to get games off net, but for a hint search for bit torrent sites on google.

Yeah, you can use any program, to copy the dreamcast cd/dvd, just aas long as you have a way of booting it in your DC.

as far as I know, you can't just stick a dreamcast game in your pc and make an image of it and burn it. You'd have to rip it to your pc and then rip it down again because dreamcast uses special discs that are about 1GB and no they're not DVD discs I believe they were called GD-rom discs if I'm not mistaken. So what I would suggest is to look for some tutorials on how to rip dreamcast games. As far as where to download them from, I got no ideas.

My mistake, WEStar, you are completely right. I remember seeing a tutorial on how to rip your own dreamcast games and make them bootable, but I completely forgot how to. I think that JagMan isn't going to back up his own games however; I think he wants to get them off of the net to burn. If you do get them off the net JagMan, then you can use the two programs I said above, but I don't wanna say anymore on this subject because I don't wanna get banned or anything.

Final Solution : Use a p2p network to download Dreamcast games. eDonkey, kazaa, DC++.
We can't tell you where, that's against the rules.
Ripping your own dreamcast games is an amazing pain in the ass. There's a lot of hardware required, and most of it is out of stock. Not only that, after you rip an ISO, you need to size it down to fit on a CD.
You probably aren't a developer. You probably just want to pirate dreamcast games.
Groups like Echelon, Kalypso, and Utopia worked for the longest time ripping dreamcast games. They had the hardware, and the tools necessary to rip the games. Also, they made most games autoboot.
They made it too easy for people to pirate games.
Anyways, most dreamcast games come in the CDI format. You simply download the games, and burn the CDI files with discjuggler. If you get a bin/cue then you use alcohol or Nero.
Other than that, there's nothing more to say on it. This is a PS2 forum, and not a dreamcast piracy forum.
Go to EBGames or a store of the like, most original DC games are like 5 bucks. In fact, the only game I suggest you download and burn yourself is Ikaruga. Ikaruga is the reason I got a dreamcast over a year ago. It's a 17MB file on most p2p networks, and it's a near-perfect arcade translation.
It's actually cheaper to buy a DC and pirate Ikaruga than to buy it new (or used in most cases) for the Gamecube.
Other than that, there are more games available on p2p networks on dreamcast thn any other game system.
But seriously, consider just BUYING the games. Most go for less than $7 or $8 USD.

I'm actually having a similar problem with my dreamcast games. I bought a DC off ebay and it came with a cd wallet full of games, but most of these games are pretty badly scratched up, so I tried to back them up with little success. I know you can't rip a GD-Rom straight, but with these burned games (I guess I technically own them) I should be able to back them up fairly easily, yeah? I tried using clonyxxl and alcoholer, but couldn't get the burned games to work in my DC whereas the originals work.
And yeah, buying DC games now is really cheap: I bought Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Soul Calibur, and a few other games for around $20. But I'd appreciate if anyone could tell me how to backup the games I already have. Thanks.

Are you using DiscJuggler to burn your backups? Other programs don't seem to work too well. The only other burn program I've had succes with is CDRWin which I use to make backups self-boot.
PS2 - v8
Mod - Magic V
Burner - CenDyne (Pioneer) DVR-A05
Media - Anything Cheap
Gamecube w/Broadband Adapter
Phantasy Star Online
Animal Crossing Loader v1.4
Phantasy Star Uploader v1.1
Gamecube ISO Ripping Server v1.0.0.29

I haven't tried discjuggler yet because I don't know what settings to use. Some people have suggested using clonecd, but I'm also not sure how that'll work. I did try using CDRWin, but that had the same problems as Alcohol 120: it would burn what would look like the image, but the DC would only read the original disc, not the newly burned one.
Any detailed instructions would be helpful.

Yep, if you can't read the original discs, then you won't be able to make backups. However, you can probably find it on a p2p network.
Even on 56k, downloading these aren't too hard, most of them are around 400MB.
And if you have a choice between CDI and CUE/BIN choose the CDI and burn it with DiscJuggler. Using DiscJuggler with CDIs is a one-click solution

No, I'm afraid I wasn't clear. I don't have any problems getting games I've downloaded (like Ikaruga) to work after I burn them. What I'm having problems doing is backing up Dreamcast games that are already burned onto cds. I got a bunch of CDR's with dreamcast games on them already from a friend of mine, but most of them are fairly scratched up, so I want to make backups of them. So what I want to do is take games that people have already downloaded and burned onto CDR, and make a backup of that CDR.
Thanks for the help up till now, though :D

Thats good that the games are already burned discs and not real DC discs, because then you don't have to go through the trouble of ripping the games (which is an insanely long process!). Here is what you should do...
1) Use one of these programs; Alcohol 120%, Nero, Clone CD, or CDRWIN. (I recommend using Alcohol because it is pretty basic and easy to use). Just go to www.download.com or download them off of afterdawn.com.
2) Make an image of your burned game using one of these programs.
3) Burn the image with the same program and your done. (make sure to burn at the lowest speed possible).

Pimp, I tried doing that with Alcohol 120 and CDRWin already, but some of the cds have copy protection on them and won't allow me to burn the image (will the slow speed setting make a difference?). Thats why I was using ClonyXXL and Alocholer with Alcohol 120, but even then I can't get it to work properly. I already have all these programs, so could you guys recommend some settings or some other programs with which to burn these DC games? Thanks.

try discjuggler, if that doesn't work then you're SOL since you've used all other burning apps.

There is no way to make a cdi/iso/bin/etc... image of a dreamcast
game. You need a cable that links the dreamcast to your pc so you can
use the dreamcast's hardware to rip the disc.
To burn cdi's i found it best to use DiscJuggler, the one on P2P
And for dreamcast games use P2P just type in Dreamcast
And so you don't download dummyfiles most dreamcast roms are about
700mb and up. And If you don't own a dreamcast you can use chankast
to emulate your rom(s) This site has everthing Emulation
