I've got a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-105 that I've been using for about 18 months. Just recently it has stopped finalizing CDRs. Data gets written ok, it just won't finalise. I have tried different software and a couple of different CDRs but it doesn't help.

I was blaming software until someone told me that CDs not finalising is the first sign of a drives death. Is this necessarily the problem or is there something I can do? It doesn't seem right that a burner from a firm like Pioneer should pack up after less than 2 years of unintensive use. Any advice gratefully recieved.
