posted this on the shrink board but didn't get any answers. new to ripping & burning. I've got a lot of dolby digital 5.1 dvd-audio (not dvd-a) concerts. got my 1st burner last week. I've been using shrink to both decrypt and shrink (and edit the lame songs out-nice little editor in shrink) and then dvd decrypter to burn (because the software that came with the dvd burner doesn't support windows 98se. I just made my wife a compilation (greatest hits) of her 3 favorite dvd concerts. the 1st one is very loud (roy orbison), the next 1 (elton john) has medium level dolby digital 5.1 audio, and the last (fleetwood mac) has even lower DD audio levels than the middle 1 and a lot lower than the the 1st album compilatiion. I just assumed that all the dolby digital levels would be the same & thus rip the same level. wrong. is there any software to normalize levels in the dolby-digital audio burn (sort like an automatic level control on the old cassette decks)? the burn came out great with 30 songs compressed to 80% with no errors, and, above all, no yapping in between songs. the only problem is the volume high/low difference between different dvd concert albums.<p> also does anyone know about the dolby digital 2.0 and 5.1 consumer encoding software that's has been liscensed to pinnacle?
