Sony DRX 710UL won't read my DVD 9 movies

Sony DRX 710UL won't read my DVD 9 movies, these read perfectly on my set-top units. The drive say no media even though it is spining trying to decipher the disc. thks

I notice this upgrade firmware is BY02. My current version is BYX2 which I flashed last month (funny thing is the drive is now DVD RW "DRU 710A" instead of "DRX 710UL"). Did i screw up the previous upgrade ? Do I need this BY02 upgrade ? thks
