After updating 2 liteon drives to the latest firmware I'm having trouble burning Taiyo Yuden media. For about 8 months we have been burning Taiyo Yuden media at our church without any problems. We had 500 TDK disks (CMC Magnetics) donated but they didn't work well at all in our system. After the firmware update the TDK disks work much better but the Taiyo Yuden disks have problems. The drives are a LTR-52327s firmware QS57 updated to QS5A and a SOHR-5238S firmware 4S04 updated to 4S07. The problem is most evident with the disks played in older players. The audio sounds garbled and the player appears to have trouble reading the disk. Media burned before the update plays fine in my test player and media burned in my liteon 451s plays fine also. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

I have been told that the firmware cannot be returned to an earlier version. I find this hard to believe. I have sent email to Liteon but no response so far.
