I'm sure this has been is easily answered, but after reading some threads and FAQ's I still cannot find a good answer. I have movies I have download from various places that are .avi and .mpeg and i would like to bring the file size down so i can burn them on a DVD+R. The file is always around 7 GB when I try to burn it using Sonic MyDVD. I not sure how to go about doing this, and if any of you can help by listing specific software and walkthroughs or guides to help me it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if it is a problem with Sonic MyDVD, if anyone has any freeware/shareware or cheap dvd burning software that they use and are successful with, I'm open to suggestions. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me

A.- In order to record an AVI file +4.7
(Example aa1.avi 7.5 [gb]):
without losing video.

A.1.- Use the TMPGEnc12 (1.76.112).
Input aa1.AVI.
Output: XX1.MPG (the first 4 GB).

A.2.- Use the TMPGEnc12 (1.76.112).
Input aa1.AVI.
Output: XX2.MPG (the last 3.5 GB).

A.3.- Burn a DVD with XX1.mpg
A.4.- Burn another DVD with XX2.mpg.

B.- In order to record an AVI file +4.7
(Example): 7.5 [gb]):
reducing the size of the video to 4.6.

B.1.- Edit the AVI in order to eliminate
some scenes.
aa1.avi (7.5)---> aa2.avi (4.6)
B.2.- Use the TMPGEnc12 (1.76.112).
Input aa2.AVI (4.6 GB).
Output: XX3.MPG (4.7 GB).
B.3.- Burn a DVD with XX3.mpg
