DVD+R Finalizing problem

I have been burning DVD+R discs in my LiteOn 5101 which play in all my other set-top players. Today I copied a VHS movie to DVD+R in the Liteon using Sima
CT-2 which allowed the copy fine. The disc though ran out at 2:04 before the movie ended; I finalized the disc in the LiteOn, but it won't play in the other players, but will play in the LiteOn. Did I not leave enough room on the disc to finalize it properly? Did using the CT-2 to dub a VHS tape somehow make this disc incompatible with the other players? The on-screen menu in the LiteOn showed it finalized "successfully". I have mainly burned movies to disc from cable and this was the first VHS transfer, but it still should have played in the other players as the other discs did. Any ideas as to what went wrong?
