LG GSA-4081thinks it's a GSA4040

I have an LG GSA-4081 dvd burner that now thinks it is a GSA-4040. It also burns much slower than it did in the past. This occured after I upgraded winXP with service pack 2. The device manager says that it is now a GSA4040 as well as in the setup when I start up the computer it also says that it is a GSA-4040. The sticker on the drive says that it is a GSA-4081. Has anyone else seen this type of problem.
