Whenever I put in a DVD into my drive and play it, the audio echos on playback. I have tried different players on my computer such as PowerDVD, stock one, and another one, and they all do it. And I dont think it is my DVD drive, because I play regular CD's through it and they work fine. I currently am using a Creative SB Live! 5.1 sound card. I have set all my settings to default and made sure there is no reverb, etc., on.
I am stuck on what to do, and help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

goto run & type dxdiag & enter. when loaded will tell you about middle of screen near bottom. you can do different test for video & sound in that program.

XP home, the audio tests in there arrent long enough i dont think to hear an echo.
But this echo only happens with DVD movies, not music playing on my computer

than i think it is a setting in the dvd program that needs adjusting. can you borrow a dvd drive to confirm it is not a hardware problem??

OK, here is my story more expanded:
You know that the DVD's do this when I play them in the drive. But here is the thing, currently I have an ISO image mounted on a virtual drive with DAEMON, and when i play that, it still does it, so it is obviously not the DVD drive it self.
Now i just disabled my sound card and enabled my onboard and it works fine with that. So is it my sound card? Do I need a new one?

Kelp, you have something in the Creative software, activated, it sounds like. See if you find something in Start/All Programs/Creative/Creative SP Live 5.1. See if there is something that says Creative Restore Defaults.
I am grasping at straws here, but it is worth a shot.

Kelp, upgrade that sound card to one of the new Audigy4 cards. I bet that it rocks. My Audigy2 Platinum, with my Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's, certainly does.
Also, did you uninstall and reinstall the Creative software?
