When I connect my Sony DCR-TRV140 Digital8 camcorder to my iLO DVDR04 via firewire, the picture is great, but the audio is overmodulated. Because of this, I have not tried to actually record any of it to DVD via firewire. I've made some good DVDs from the Sony via S-Vid and analog L/R audio.

I sent an email to iLO tech support on the issue, and here is their reply:
Quote:
There are some sony cameras that have problems communicating with our unit. These garble however does not show up in the recording. Try playing those disc you recorded and they should be fine.
We are working on a firmware fix for this.
I will try actually recording a DVD as they suggest from the Sony via firewire to see how the playback is, and I'll report the results here.

Has anyone else experienced garbled audio on the iLO DV input with Sony or other cameras?
