DVD-R Wont work on PS2???

This is a first for me and was wondering if anyone out there could give me a suggestion on my problem. I recently backed up Best of Wrestling volumn 1,2,3, and 4 and the back ups came out fine. I mean they work great on my cheap Apex DVD player, but when I go to play them on my PS2 I get the reddish space looking screen that says disk is not PS2 format. I have backed up over 100 others and they worked fine. Now my question is this. I changed the menu a bit so that its just a screen with a picture and you hit play and you watch all the matches in a row. There is no chapter selection. Does anyone have any idea why these disks work fine in my apex dvd player and not my PS2? By the way they are sony DVD-R's

If anyone can help i appreciate it.
