Problems making playable DVD backups on MAC - assist please

Ok, so I am using G4 on OS 10.3...using MTR and DVDRemaster, have been attempting to backup a few of my DVDs.

Apparantly MTR seems to work - I have heard that "main feature only" seems to make an unplayable disc.

I am playing with DEMO copy of DVDRemaster (deciding to buy or DVD20neX) and compress the data.

Then I move VIDEO-TS (and AUDIO_TS) onto DVD and BURN.

So far NONE of the disks will play on my standard DVD Player, or even my Superdrive on my home system won't read disk.

One disk would mount but would NOT play automatically...had to use DVD player on "OPEN VIDEO-TS FILE" and then I get an error message....

YET, I can open the VIDEO_TS files on my desktop and play the movies FINE from the hard-drive...only when I move to disk do I seem to meet an error. "encountered system error...could not detect valid medai file -70001"

So questions:

1. perhaps rippiing in Main Feature mode in MTR..not a good idea?

2. Am I setting the file structure right? Just name the disk (using uppercase) and put VIDEO_TS file and audio in the root of the disk? or do I need another folder named "movie title" inside the disk?

3. Perhaps it is the DEMO copy of remaster...even though the compress movie plays off the hard drive.

4. could it be invisible files on the disk...read that....how do I locate them and delete?

any comments would be appreciated.
