Im trying to burn a dvd-9 movie but I just want the movie portion. Is there anyway to just burn the movie minus all the extras on to a dvd-r. Could anyone provide me with a step by step process or link, that would be great!Thanx

I don't think that it will matter. I'm using DVD+R though. Use whatever disc your writer supports.

My guess is that your stand alone player won't play DVD-R, won't play that brand OR doesn't play any DVDR media. Newer DVD players are suppose to play everything. ?????

Obviously there is a difference between stand alone DVD and PC, probably media! Try it on another DVD player?

I had the same problem as you. I know my Xbox plays DVD-R's but it wouldn't play the stripped DVD-9 movies after I followed all the steps to get it on one disk. It would, however, work fine on my PC. How did you get them to work on your PS2?
Thanks

I never got them to work in my ps2 (i think it may have something to do with my chip (apple), although my ps2 has issues when it comes to playing any dvd movies for some reason. So i usually just watch using my dvd player. Every game Iev burned worked flawless using this method:
Using Nero
1. Start Nero, Use the Wizard (for easy use)
2. Select "DVD" then select Next
3. Select "Copy a DVD" then select Next
4. Select your source drive
5. Check OFF "copy on the fly" then select next
6. Select your write speed
7. Select either "Test", "Test and Burn" or "Burn"
8. Press "Burn" to begin
So im not really sure why they wont play in my ps2, i doubt its the media so....Good luck though!

Try and use Memorex Media. It works on my PS2 v4 without a mod chip.
