i've had my burner for a couple of months now, it has just only decided to stop working, it won't pick up any of my dvd disks, it will pick up a normal cd-r fine but not dvd

im using nero 5
and the burner is a MSI + and -

Did you try to uninstall and reinstall the drive?
Did you change anything previous to this problem that would have caused this problem to occur?
Sometimes bad media will act real goofy in a computer.

sounds like your version of 5 maybe isn't picking up your burner correctly (ie does Nero state the burner's name ?. Or maybe your firmware of your burner isn't new enough to recognise your DVD media ??
