How to transfer non image files to PS 2 HDD

Ok so i have found a media player for the PS2 and I want to transfer vcd's and avi files to watch with the ps 2 media player. I use Wiinhip to transfer .iso to my HDD for Hdloader to run, Wiinhipp doesn't allow anything but image files. Can I get around this?
