Hi, Well I have a movie .avi and I used the how-to here to split the file using Virtualdub into 2 parts, everything looks good till I play them. about 19 mins into the movie the sound just stops does this in both parts I've tried this 5 times and I get the same results 19 mins in and zip no audio (???)

system info;

HP pavilion 1.4 the vidcard(32mb) and soundcard are both onboard :(

I'm lost, but then again I'm new at this

Thx

Is the sound portion of your AVI file in PCM or WAV format? If so the sound on that portion of the clip will fail to play because the IFO file is probably showing AC3 (i.e. DOLBY) as the default sound source and I have found that mixing AC3 AND WAV in a single video does not work.

If this is the case use a program called BeeSmart to Encode the WAV to AC3 and it will work fine.

Regards,
Ken
