Ok heres the thing I have 4 kids and all I want to be able to do Is copy there PS2 games and let them play the copied version instead of the real one. I am on the 3rd bought copy of sponge bob and its getting expensive. What would be the best way for me to be able to do this? Keep in mind I need something simple... THanks

Thanks Vikki

One simple method is the use of boot discs. But the problem for you will be that you need to be careful with the boot disc, because you can't back that disc up, and you need it to boot each backup copy.

Installing a modchip will allow you to boot your backup copies just like the originals, but you may need to pay someone to install it for you if you're soldering skills aren't up to par.

Thanks alot, after reading alot of things I was thinking about the swap magic for the PS2 slimline. Maybe I would have to be the one loading the games...
Has anyone had good luck with that? Thanks again....

Thanks Vikki

I use Swap Magic v3.3 discs and they work great, i haven't had any problems with any of my backups yet.

Using SwapMagic also requires a small modification to your console. Now, since you have the slimline pstwo there are a few different choices to go with. There is the slimtool, fliptop lid, or the cheap and easy 'tape mod'.
I would say that the 'fliptop lid' might be your best bet. And lot's of places probably sell the lid together with the SM discs as a set. Only thing about the fliptop would be that you can't make recognized swaps with your backups. I don't ever need to, so it wouldn't bother me.

What do you mean by recongized swap between back ups? Like you put one in and then change without putting swap magic in?
I do think this is what im going to do it sounds really easy...
But the other question is where do I buy them to be sure my credit card info is safe and I get what I pay for? I was looking into www.modchip.com and the slimline one is there for $34.00. I just never know if I should buy off here or not.
I looked on ebay but theres nothing on there! Thanks again!

Oh yeah since I have you I forgot to ask about the burning software. I read there are 2 programs DVD Wizard Pro which I am leaning towards and DVD Duplication Pro but from the reviews it says the duplication one does not remove copywright which im not sure that matters or not but I was thinking about backing up the kids dvds also....
Whats your opinion?

Thanks Vikki

A recognized swap would be something like a 2 disc game, where it asks for you to 'Insert Disc 2' or something. I think there might be ways around this, but i don't have any 2 disc games. Perhaps, if you want to use codes with a game it might be difficult, not really sure as i don't do anything other than play 'em.

Yah, search around, that site should be fine for you if you want to do that.

Download 'Dvd Decrypter' from afterdawn. It's free, completely user friendly and works better than everything else. It will backup your dvd ps2 games perfectly. It can also backup movie dvd's. I haven't been prevented from backing up any of my movies so far, so it should decrypt just about anything you got. However, you will also want to grab 'Dvd Shrink' to shrink the .iso file it creates down to fit onto a dvdr.

Hello again, Just wanted to tell you I order the swap magic with flip top lid. Got it yesterday and it works great. We have just made a rule that I load the games for now... So thanks again!
