can't play video from normal cd's anymore

Hello all,
i hope there is somebody who can help me with my big problem.
I have put some of my avi files (movies) on a normal cd, after doing this i have tested them and i could look at them on my pc with no problem. I've burned the movies as data on a cd by the way. But now and i don't know what the problem is,my pc completely crashes after double clicking on the file in my cd rom. I can't even copy the file on my harddrive. This is with every movie that i've put on a cd in the past and that did work but not anymore. I'm using nimo codec pack so maybe that has to do something with it but then it's weird why it did work in the past

i hope i explained my problem good enough and that there are some pc wizards that can help me out.
