Mobile phone tool for v265

I just recently bought the phone tools for my Motorola V265. I installed the program and downloaded the updated version. When asked to plug in my phone to search for the modem, nothing happens. I have tried selecting the modem from the list, CMDA 1X. But I'm not sure what I'm doing, because then it asks for a port. I am able to select my phone model, but after that, my phone tool doesn't get past the initiaizing stage. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it. Any info would be helpful. Thanks
