Yes and No. Yes you can back this game up if you have a dual layer burner and a dual layer disc and no there has not been one person on this forum that has backed it up successfully to a DVD-5 disc. Just give it some time and there will be a dvd rip tutorial for this game so you will be able to fit it on a DVD-5 disc.

Quote: Yes and No. Yes you can back this game up if you have a dual layer burner and a dual layer disc
that is totally incorrect
no-one here, there, anywhere has managed to copy this game
whether it be a rip to dvd-5
or burnt onto a dual layer disc
it will not work
GT4 is for the last time, recorded onto PTP(pararell track path) format
no burner,disc's,app can emulate this.YET
there should be a sticky
"no posts about GT4"
until we know for sure, this game is back-up-able
i am not trying to start something, its just that
people who say they have copied it are telling porkys.
i have just been in contact with someone who is a serious hacker,
and even he has not done it yet

ive burnt gt4 on to a dual layer disc. All the information is there because when i make an image of my burnt copy its the same size as the original. But when i try play this burnt copy is where i have problems. It looks like its goin to work, Playstation 2 logo comes up then the first screen of the game but from after that the screen goes black and nothing after this happens.

I like how people CAN'T READ, or don't bother to use the goddamn search function, yet insist on cluttering up the boards with thread after thread after thread on the exact same topic.
FFS, USE the search function FOR ONCE.

i agree with you mate
why dont people stop wasting expensive dual layer discs & just BUY IT for gods sake, its not gonna break the bank is it
lets face it you cant have your movies & software & games all for free sometimes you gotta spend a couple of pounds.

That's not exactly my point, although I do agree to a certain extent.
What I mean is that people need to be a little bit more.. how do you say.. independent maybe. Search, look, explore, Google, read, read, read. Don't barge in on forums where the same exact question has more than likely been asked millions of times in millions of threads and expect reasonable and lenghty responses every damn time. Goddamn it, I learned all this copying and burning and downloading stuff myself, and rarely if ever do I feel the need to ask ANYTHING in a forum. A quick search yields whatever it is I need to know in a matter of SECONDS. Why can't everybody do that, if I can? Why must people be so, goddamn, LAZY?
That is what I was trying to get across.

I have backed up GT-4.I ripped it to my hard drive.took out a few files that you don't need and burnt it to a disk with Nero.then I reripped it with Alcohol 120% and it works great with 1 dvd-r.if you check out the size of it it's only a little over 5000 MB.so just take it down to around 4500 MB are so.I had to do the same thing on the guy game and I'v beat it a few times.hope these helps.
later.

I backed up gt4 with a 16 time burn lite-on duel layer.but I burned it to a single dvd-r.I just took out a few files.but had to burn it twice.one to rip it from the original and did a image file from it.then reburned it.I'v played it threw and near the end but it started to act up.so it's not a 100% working game yet.I"m going back to rerip it and see what I can do.when I get a 100% I'll put up a thread on how to do it.I have 3 dvd burners but the lite-on was the only one that read it so I could rip it to my hard drive.
