.mov problems with WinAVI

Hi,
I have a .mov file that I am trying to burn to DVD using WinAVI and Nero. Usually I have no problems but for some reason this one isn't working right. When convert the centre of the movie is placed to the right hand side of the preview (and the subsequent DVD) and consequently about a third of the screen on the right hand side is not included in the change to a DVD. Anybody now why this is and what to do to get around this problem? The .mov file plays absolutely fine by the way - it is only when transferring to DVD that things go pear shaped.
