new to this forum... please be gentle ;)

The question I have is, I am trying to convert a DV into DVD. However, the movie is going to be anywhere from 360-600mb.

I really dont want to waste a 4.7gb dvd-r for a 360mb ish video clip, but must have it on a media compatible with dvd players

What would happen if I burnt a DVD ISO of 360mb onto a blank CD? Since the ISO is for a DVD, would a standalone dvd player think the CD is a DVD? Or would it not work at all?

Thanks in advance

Some players will play it and others won't even look for DVD files on a CD. Using a CD also restricts the max bitrate (to about 5000kbps for combined audio/video streams in my experience) due to the physical limitations of reading from a CD.
